P&MM Employee Benefits client Nottingham City Council won two awards at the recent Employee Benefits Awards. They were top in class for both 'Best Voluntary Benefits’ and ‘Benefits Team of the Year’.
Our client, One-Stop, was highly commended in the “Best Use of Technology Award” at the Employee Engagement Awards in January 2016. The winners of the UK & Ireland 2015 Employee Engagement Awards represent the new breed of businesses that are leading the way in delivering the best employee experience. One-Stop were highly commended for the introduction of the Employee Engage App to their 10,500 employees.
Our client Nottingham City Council won the ‘Award for Employee Benefits’ at the Personnel Today awards in December 2015, beating the likes of HSBC, Virgin Money and BMW to the coveted industry award. The judges said Nottingham City Council’s solution – which is powered by P&MM – is "a really good example of how necessity breeds ingenuity. The entry was well structured and showed passion for the subject matter."
P&MM clients have won two awards at the Workplace Savings & Benefits Awards. Surrey County Council won the ‘Best Communications/Engagement Initiative of the Year’ and Nottingham City Council won the ‘Savings and Benefits Team of the Year’.
Nottingham City Council has won the award for 'Most Effective Rewards and Benefits Strategy' at the HR Excellence Awards in Park Lane. It is the second consecutive year that a P&MM Employee Benefits client has won this particular award, following Surrey County Council in 2014.
We are proud to have been recognised as the ‘Best Salary Sacrifice Provider 2015’ at the inaugural VIB Awards ceremony at Edgbaston, Birmingham in May.
The team at P&MM were presented the award in recognition of benefits that have captured employers’ imagination in the salary sacrifice space this year. Our salaryplus system enables companies of any size to centralise all of their salary sacrifice schemes, providing optimum efficiency for their internal administration teams; and a single, consistent salary sacrifice portal for employees.
We are delighted that this work has been recognised as being best in class by the VIB Awards judging panel.
The Employee Benefits Awards and HR Excellence Awards have recently recognised two of P&MM’s public sector clients for the positive impact of their innovative and effective benefits packages. The dedicated team at P&MM Employee Benefits is working harder than ever to ensure that our employee benefit solutions continue to be exactly what customers and employees want, and we are proud that this work – in partnership with the teams at Nottingham City Council and Surrey County Council – has been recognised with major accolades from the HR and Employee Benefits industry:
Tara Bath and Rachel Morris from Nottingham City Council celebrate their award win.
The Council’s benefits package, ‘Works Perks’, has been recognised as a “best in class” scheme, with successful, well-rounded benefits that attract a broad audience and appeal to a diverse workforce. The scheme is also delivered cost neutrally for the Council (in fact the scheme consistently generates savings for the Council) which, in a period of public sector budget cuts, is a notable and vital achievement. The annual leave purchase scheme alone has generated over £1.3 million in salary/NI savings for the Council since 2011 (over £615K in 2013).
The awards ceremony and summer party took place at the Honourable Artillery Company headquarters, central London, where the Council received recognition for its efforts in promoting an effective and innovative reward strategy through their voluntary benefits scheme.

The Council’s reward strategy was to help employee salaries stretch further and provide choice via an evolving range of voluntary benefits. The benefits are delivered through the ‘Surrey Extra’ scheme, which brings together salary sacrifice and employee discounts in a single portal.
There was a real need for innovative promotional techniques to maximise employees’ awareness of the benefits, despite the challenge of a diverse geographic spread and limited access to electronic communication. A ‘back to basics’ communication strategy was employed giving promotional material a more personalised and authentic feel in order to reach out to (and influence) the whole workforce.
It was essential that both Councils maximised engagement with the benefits they offer to employees, while making savings in national insurance contributions to be cost effective and, in some cases, cost neutral.
Congratulations to both Councils on their achievements.
